BEWARE!! The handyman posing as a licensed contractor. There are many in Oregon and you should always ask for their OR Contractors license number. Go to the OR State Contractors Board and check to see if they have a license and get references. When you hire an unlicensed contractor you become the employer and could be liable for any injuries sustained on your property if they perform trade work. Also, most good homeowner insurance policies may not protect you because they will have a "bootleg contractor" exclusion in place. PROTECT YOURSELF, YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR INVESTMENT, ALWAYS HIRE A LICENSED CONTRACTOR!
